One of the key features of Notion databases is the ability to show different properties on cards, which allows users to quickly and easily see the most important information about their data.
In this article, we will show you how to show properties on cards in Notion, including how to select and customize the properties you want to display, and how to arrange and format them to suit your needs.
To begin, navigate to the database view you want to edit. This could be a table view, a gallery view, or any other type of view that you have created for your database.
Once you have navigated to your desired database view, select the name of the view you want to edit, then hit "Edit view". This will open a sidebar menu on the right-hand side of the screen, which will allow you to customize the properties and formatting of your view.
In the sidebar menu that pops up, find the "Properties" option. This option will allow you to select the properties you want to show on your cards, as well as customize the way they are displayed.
Once you have found the "Properties" option, select the properties you want to show on your cards by checking and unchecking the "show" icon next to each property. This will allow you to choose which properties you want to display on your cards, and which ones you want to hide.
In the "Properties" menu, you can also re-order and arrange how your properties show in your view. This allows you to customize the layout of your cards and ensure that the most important information is displayed prominently.
To re-order your properties, simply drag and drop them into the desired order. To arrange your properties, use the options in the "Arrange" menu to adjust the alignment, spacing, and other formatting options for your properties.
Once you're done editing the properties you'd like shown, you can hit 'Save For Everyone' to keep your changes.
Unfortunately, Notion doesn't let you show the name of the property (e.g. 'Due Date') on cards. Instead, it will only show the value of that property for a given database object. Currently, Tables are the only view that let you see the name and icon set for a property in your database, alongside the value.
