How To Hide Notion Properties: Quick Tutorials (2024)

Database Properties
January 1, 2024

One of the key features of Notion databases is the ability to show or hide different properties on cards, in tables, on boards and in galleries; which allows users to quickly and easily see the most important information about their data.

In this tutorial, we'll show you how to hide properties from database views in Notion.

How To Hide Notion Properties

  1. Navigate to the database view you want to edit.
  2. Select the name of the view you want to edit, then hit "Edit view".
  3. Find the "Properties" option in the sidebar menu that pops up.
  4. Uncheck the properties you want to hide.
  5. Click out and "Save for everyone".

Step 1: Navigate to the database view you want to edit.

To begin, navigate to the database view you want to edit. This could be a table view, a gallery view, or any other type of view that you have created for your database.

Step 2: Select the name of the view you want to edit.

Once you have navigated to your desired database view, select the name of the view you want to edit, then hit "Edit view". This will open a sidebar menu on the right-hand side of the screen, which will allow you to customize the properties and formatting of your view.

Step 3: Find the "Properties" option in the sidebar menu

In the sidebar menu that pops up, find the "Properties" option. This option will allow you to select the properties you want to hide, as well as customize the way they are displayed.

Step 4: Uncheck the properties you want to hide.

Once you have found the "Properties" option, uncheck the properties you want to hide on your cards by clicking on the "show" icon next to each property. This will hide the selected properties from your cards.

Step 5: Save your changes.

Once you're done hiding the properties you don't want shown, you can hit 'Save For Everyone' to keep your changes.

After you've hidden your properties from a given view, you can always follow this same process to show them again in your database views. Remember: when you hide properties from a database view, you can always show them again on another view without editing the original. You can even have multiple tabs within a single database that show different views with different selected properties shown to highlight the information you need :)
