Duplicating a Notion database is a quick and easy way to create a backup or to use the same information in a different context. However, many people run into trouble when trying to duplicate a database, especially if they are trying to do it from a full-page view or from a linked view. In this tutorial, we will cover the correct steps for duplicating a database and explain how to avoid common pitfalls.
Important: You cannot duplicate a Notion database from a full-page view of it. You need to navigate to an inline view of the database, which is the view you see when you are a 'step back' from the original full-page database.
Important: If you are trying to duplicate a linked view of a database, this will not create a copy of the database. It will only create another linked view of the same database. In order to duplicate the actual database, you need to follow the steps above to navigate to the page where the database is located and duplicate it from there.
