One of the key features of Notion is the ability to create pages and add properties to them, which allows users to quickly and easily organize and access their information.
However, it's important to note that there are two types of pages in Notion: regular pages and database pages. Regular pages do not have properties, while database pages automatically have properties assigned to them.
In this tutorial, we will show you how to add properties to regular pages in Notion, including how to create a database, add properties to it, and how to then move existing pages into that database to give them properties.
To begin, navigate to the Notion page you'd like to add properties to. This could be a regular page or a database page.
If the page you want to add properties to is already in a database, you can skip ahead to step 7 to move the page into the database with the desired properties.
If the page you want to add properties to is not in a database, it will not have any properties. In this case, you'll need to create a new database to add properties to the page.
To create a new database, head to a new page or create a new page from your Notion homepage, and type "/database" into the page. This will create a new database on the page.
In order to add properties to your target page, you'll need to move it to the same location as your new database. You can do this by dragging the page to the homepage or to wherever you created your new database.
Once you've moved your target page to the same 'hub' as your database, you can easily drag it into your database. This will keep all your existing content on that page, but add the database properties to your page. You can then add and edit properties for that page either from the table view or from the top of the page itself.

💡 What is a Notion OS? Notion OS templates are ready-made workspaces that have been designed for specific business types. You can always customize your Notion OS further with individual components--but your OS should serve as your base hub, with the fundamental structure you need to run a business in Notion.
