In Notion, you can use a board view to organize tasks and projects in a Kanban style layout. One useful feature of board views is the ability to add columns, which allow you to categorize tasks based on a specific property or criteria. In this tutorial, we'll show you how to add columns to your board view in Notion.
To begin, navigate to your kanban board view in Notion. If you don't have a board view yet, you can create one by clicking the "+" button at the top of your database view, selecting your database source and selecting 'Board' as your layout.
Once you're on your board view, scroll all the way to the right side of the screen. You should see a '+' icon at the top of your columns. Click this icon to add a new group to your board view.
In the "Name your group" field, enter a name for your new column. This will be the name of the column and will also be a new value for the property you are grouping by.
After you've entered a name for your new group, click the "Done" button to add the group to your board view. You should now see a new column on your board view that you can use to organize your tasks. Simply drag and drop tasks into the appropriate column to categorize them.

💡 What is a Notion OS? Notion OS templates are ready-made workspaces that have been designed for specific business types. You can always customize your Notion OS further with individual components--but your OS should serve as your base hub, with the fundamental structure you need to run a business in Notion.
